Falkert - Location

The ski resort Falkert is situated in the Nockberge mountain region (Carinthia - Austria ) between the larger ski resorts Bad Kleinkirchheim (approx. 12km) and Turracher Höhe at an altitude of 1,700 – 2,300m.
Take the Landesstrasse from the valley (between Wiedweg and Ebene Reichenau at 1,000m altitude) up to the mountain village Falkertsee at 1,875m. Due to the location snow chains are recommended during the winter months, inclusive November and May.

by car:

From north (Germany/Switzerland and Western Austria) A 10 Tauernautobahn to exit Spittal / Millstätter See (note: exit is on the left side of motorway) - Seeboden - Döbriach - Radenthein - Bad Kleinkirchheim - Wiedweg - Patergassen - direction Ebene Reichenau - turn left to Falkertsee - go all the way up the mountain!
Arriving from east we recommend the Südautobahn or the route via Judenburg, Murau over the Turracher Höhe.

by train:

coming from northern destinations (Germany/Switzerland and Western Austria) you get off at the station Spittal an der Drau / Milstätter See. From Vienna: St. Veit an der Glan.

by plane:

Airport Klagenfurt or Salzburg. From Klagenfurt it takes another hour, from Salzburg approx. 2 hours to Falkert. HLX (Hannover and Cologne/Bonn) and Ryanair (London)  to Klagenfurt 6 times/week. - Regular flights from Vienna and Frankfurt. Further information re "Low budget airlines"
